First Quarter, 2003 Performance Review
In the first quarter of 2003, hotels worldwide experienced 4.6% growth in room nights booked electronically, in comparison to the same period last year.
Revenue for the first quarter of 2003 was up 3.6%, and average rate declined 0.9%. "The growth in room nights was largely driven by room nights booked by consumers over Internet sites," said Bruce W. Mainzer, senior vice president of marketing for TravelCLICK.
Effective with this first quarter review, TravelCLICK's eMonitor data now includes electronic bookings made through third party Internet sites powered by Pegasus, as well as bookings made through the Amadeus, Galileo, Worldspan and Sabre GDSs.
